We are very excited for the release of Transformers: The Last Knight. Okay, we admit it, some of us may have had countless adventures with Optimus stomping Decepticon scum upon our living room floors, bathtubs, and bunk beds as adolescents…uh…children. And there may have been a handful of Christmases spent pondering if the well wrapped, heavily taped, rectangular shaped box under the tree could possibly be Soundwave, Starscream, or even Optimus himself! All of that makes this project extra special to us. Fate called upon us, and we are extremely fortunate enough to have worked closely with the Special FX/Prop Department team to create some of the pieces for this movie. We have officially become part of the Transformers story.
Time for us to “roll out”..... to the theater.
We are extremely excited to have been able to create some new scenery for Raging Waves Waterpark. Get out there this summer and check out what we did! They open for the season this weekend...so grab your suits, towels, get ready for some fun, and head over there!
Constructed under the ORIGINAL Wonder Wheel at Coney Island, Brooklyn NY. The head was the entrance to the 4D ride at Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park. Through the mouth and into the dark room sits an insanely cool interactive ride. If you're in the area, this attraction is a MUST SEE!
In 2017 L3DFX helped transform the drive thru holiday light display industry. Utilizing our creative power and manufacturing expertise, we were able to produce nearly 6,000 custom, hand made steel displays for the Magic of Lights drive thru holiday light shows being featured at 8 locations in North America. A few of these locations include Jones Beach State Park, NY, Daytona Motor Speedway, and Castrol Motor Speedway in Edmonton. Within this stretch are themed scenes such as Nativity, 12 Days of Christmas, Winter Wonderland, Christmas Around the World, Toyland, Christmas in Space, and many more! Each show features nearly 2 miles of Christmas lights designed by L3DFX for each show. These displays feature custom sponsored displays, animated pieces, and large scale (some in excess of 25' tall) displays. In total, L3DFX processed nearly 50 miles worth of light cord, installed nearly 1 Million bulbs, through 86,000 pages of design work....in about 120 days. Our steel fabrication team is top notch processing nearly 100 miles of raw stock in that time!
The bad news is there is no possible way to post photos and details of everything we built here....but we may know a place you can go see them! Grab the family and go drive thru: http://magicoflights.com
THE WORLD'S LARGEST INDOOR LAZER TAG....and we built it. This facility is located in Schiller Park, IL a few doors down from O'Hare Airport and Allstate Arena. L3DFX served as the GC on this project handling everything from the master planning through construction.
